Course Report – June

Published on 26th May 2023 in Course News, Members News

This time of year its business as usual as we start ramping things up for the clubs signature event of the year. Our Kikuyu program has impacted on fairway growth and colour a little as compared to what we have had in previous years but we are confident they will bounce back in time and will look great leading up to the event and through the winter period. Post SWO we will look at attacking the kikuyu on tee tops and areas of rough, Again this is a slow program but we are starting to see great results noticeably in areas of rough which were once thick Kikuyu and is now a clean sward of couch.

We have recently taken delivery of some new machinery!! 2 new greens rollers and a new bunker rake have arrived from Mcintosh and sons in Perth, The bunker rake will replace our current model which has been in active duty for 12 years and the 2 rollers will replace the 1 roller we have had for 11 years.  The beauty of running with 2 rollers is that we have the option and flexibility to send rollers out just prior to play.

We have also recently advertised for some part time positions with over 50 applications coming through, we are currently sifting through these and will make a call after the open. We will however be saying good bye to one of our part time employees in Chris Kenny, Chris has been with us for the past 18 months and has been a great member of the team- We wish him the best of luck on his next journey as he moves up to Mandurah.

This update is short lived compared to my usual reports, but I promise we will be back better and ever after the open!!

Until then, Happy hitting.
