Bunbury Golf Club By-Laws Amended

RE: Bunbury Golf Club By-laws Updated

Adopted by a resolution of the Board in accordance with rule 16 of the Constitution, on 25th May 2023

It was moved to adopt amended changes to the Bunbury Golf Club By Laws.

A copy is available on the club website or a hard copy is available on request to Management.

 

ADDED

3.2.16          NON PLAYING GOLF MEMBER

Subcategory of Social Membership

A Non-Playing Golf Member shall be a person who has been a Full or Intermediate playing member of the Club for not less than one year, and who because of age, ill health, infirmity or some other factor acceptable to the Board of Management wishes to relinquish playing rights.  Non-playing Members shall not retain voting rights and shall not be eligible to hold office in the Club. They shall be entitled to the privileges of the clubhouse amenities, use of practice facilities and maintain valid GA handicap status.

Non-Playing subscriptions cannot be paid in instalments, no pro rata applicable and is paid annually or part thereof.

All outstanding balances must be paid in full before any request to transfer to Non-Playing will be approved.

Any Buggy Storage Bay and Locker must be paid in full for the current year and following year or surrender on transfer to Non-Playing. Such facilities must be surrendered at the end of the first full year of Non-Playing. Should members transfer back to a playing category, automatic escalation to the top of the wait list for these facilities will be offered in the event the member previously had the facility.

If a member during a Club financial year completes 40 or more games, they are liable to pay the full fees associated with their category of membership prior to applying for Non-Playing Golf membership.  In the event that 2 or more financial years are crossed then the time period will be pro-rated.

TYPE A MEDICAL-– A member of the Club who is unable to play golf due to medical reasons must apply in writing to the Board of Management to be placed on the non-Playing list for a minimum of 3 months.  A medical certificate must be presented at the time of application.  Any member applying to be reinstated will automatically be placed in the category of Membership previously held.

Any Member approved as Non-Playing (Medical) is permitted to play on the golf course up to 5 times to test their readiness to return to active Membership.  Such play must not be in Club Competition unless approved by the Board of Management. Shall be entitled to the privileges of the Clubhouse amenities.

TYPE B OTHER- Any Member wishing to transfer to Non-Playing Golf Membership (other than Medical above) may do so in writing for a minimum of 5 months.  Any member applying to be reinstated will automatically be placed in the category of Membership previously held.

Any Member approved as Non-Playing (Other) may be permitted to play on the golf course up to 5 times at no charge.  They may play in regular Club Competition; however, they get no booking priority over full members and only take available positions 4 days before competition.  Any further play on the course is not permitted without payment of full Green Fees or Visitor Competition Fee (Member guest discounts are not applicable).

Approval of a request for an extension of Non-Playing Membership (Other) beyond 24 months is at the discretion of the Board of Management.

6.1.5 RESIGNED MEMBER REJOINING– If a member reapplies for a playing rights membership within 3 years of resignation, they are liable for a re-joining nomination fee of $1000 (Excludes Non-Playing Members).

This nomination fee can only be waived by the Board of Management following a written request.
