Covid-19 Vaccine Mandate

Published on 11th February 2022 in Members News

Dear Members

As per Government requirements and in accordance with advice from GolfWA the following situation applies to all junior golfers.

There is currently no vaccine mandate in place for any junior of less than 16 years of age. They are not required to have a vaccination and neither the Club nor any individual member has the right to demand  proof of their vaccination status. Junior golfers are welcome to play on our course and access Club facilities. Whilst the State Government and WA Health Department encourage parents to get their children vaccinated against Covid this remains, at this time,  entirely a matter for the individual families concerned.

In accordance with State Government requirements Junior golfers who are 16 years of age or more are required to show POV when entering our site or playing on our course. This is because the entirety of our site is licensed and the Club has been given clear directives to follow in respect to this. Failure to do so may result in serious penalties

Junior golfers with senior playing rights under the age of 16 years are most welcome to play in any senior competition. It is in everyone’s interest to continue to practice safe distancing and personal hygiene in relation to the washing of hands and use of sanitiser. Golf remains one of the safest sports to play during these times with extremely limited personal contact whilst on the course. As with any competition members are at liberty to play with whomever they wish.

The Club and our members are doing an excellent job of managing our Covid requirements. Our junior members are an asset to our Club and I look forward to having a game with them at any time.

 Regards,

Rob Littlewood

President
